The Highlights of 2014

2014 was a year of challenges and successes.

From January to September the Restless Minds team worked tirelessly to establish the anthology!

09/10/2014 – We had our book launch! (Check out the videos Part 1, 2, 3, 4). We even sold out on the night, a feat never achieved by any MA anthology before!

18/10/2014 – Along came Nottingham Festival of Words where we organised our second print run!

31/10/2014 – For Halloween the Restless Minds Team had many creative treats for all:

12/11/2014 – Kicking off Jazz & Poetry Night, with Four in the Bar, Mathew Sweeney and Cathy Grindrod, was a lot of fun!

29/11/2014 – Many members of the Restless Minds team graduated from Nottingham Trent University!

11/12/2014 – Restless Minds was invited to Speak Your Mind #2 (run by Dagda Publishing). Check out the videos (Part 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 ,6).

Here is our Jazz & Poetry playlist featuring Mark Done, Kristina Adams and Lauren C. Terry reading their poems at Guitar Bar.

You can subscribe to our YouTube account to watch our videos as soon we upload them. There is now a YouTube link in our menu at the top of the page which will take you straight to it. As we do more reading events we hope to upload more videos, so stay tuned. Launch Night videos are being prepped!

Thank you to Kristian Elliott and Jon Plummer for filming the readings. Although, Kristian has realised that filming in portrait is never the best option.

Jazz and Poetry night happens once a month, the next event will at 8pm on December 10th with more details announced in the future. There are always fantastic a poets lined up to read! Wednesday night’s Jazz & Poetry played host to award-winning poets Matthew Sweeney and Cathy Grindrod, along with classic jazz from Four in the Bar. Restless Minds contributors: Kristina Adams, Mark Done and Lauren C. Terry kick started the night with their poems.

Jazz & Poetry with Matthew Sweeney & Cathy Grindrod

This weeks Jazz & Poetry will play host to award-winning poets Matthew Sweeney and Cathy Grindrod, and classic jazz from Four in the Bar.

Three Restless Minds contributors will be supporting them on the night: award-winning radio host  Kristina Adams; Mark Done who received a merit in Nottingham’s open poetry competition, and undergraduate Lauren C. Terry. They’ll read their poems from Restless Minds along with some never before seen material.

Copies of Restless Minds will be on sale for £5.

Jazz & Poetry Night

Three of our Restless Minds contributors: Kristina Adams, Mark Done, and Lauren C. Terry, will be reading at Guitar Bar in Sherwood Rise, Wednesday 12th November. Make sure you arrive for 8pm; they will be reading at the start of the night (8:30pm) and their poems will be from Restless Minds plus some new poems not in the anthology. Entry is free!

We will be selling copies of Restless Minds from our second print-run. They will cost £5 each.
